One Video, 20 Tries: Why Accounts Matter
Picture two shops with the same 40 videos. One posts them on one account. The other posts them on 20. The first shop runs 40 tests a year. The second runs 800.
That difference is why, for short video, the number of accounts can matter more than the number of videos.
How a feed decides who sees a post
TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and Facebook Reels all use recommendation feeds. A new post is first shown to a small group of viewers. The feed watches what they do: do they watch to the end, rewatch, share, or scroll away? If the signals are good, the post is shown to more people. If not, it stops.
TikTok describes this in its own explanation of the For You feed: recommendations are based on how people interact with videos, not only on who they follow.
Every post is a test. The number of tests you can run is your real budget.
Why one video gets only one test per account
Each test depends on things you don’t control: who happened to be in the first group, what else was trending that hour, the day of the week. A good video can fail its first test by bad luck.
On one account, you can’t simply post it again. The same video twice on the same account looks like a duplicate. So the video’s one test is final.
- With one account, a good video that fails by bad luck is gone.
- With 20 accounts, the same video gets 20 independent tests.
- Over a month, that is the difference between one try and 20 tries for every video you have.
What “20 tries” means in practice
At x20.online we create 20 or more accounts for a business, prepare them for its niche, language and location, and post its existing videos on them. Posting starts at one post per account per day. Every copy is edited so each account posts a unique version.
Say a café sends us 10 videos a month. On 20 accounts, that becomes around 600 posts a month once posting runs daily. Each video is tested about 60 times instead of once.
The limits
This approach has clear limits. It doesn’t turn a weak video into a strong one. It needs a few weeks before posting starts, because new accounts need to be prepared. And it’s an estimate game: some months are better than others.
It also isn’t advertising. Nobody pays the platforms for views; the feeds decide who sees each post. You can compare the two approaches on our x20.online vs paid ads page, and see real numbers from the accounts we run on our live statistics. More guides are on our blog.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is posting on many accounts better than making more videos?
Both help, but they solve different problems. More videos give the feed more to test. More accounts give each existing video more independent tests. If you already have good videos but limited time to film, more accounts usually add reach faster than more filming.
Won’t the platforms see the same video as a duplicate?
Posting the same file twice on one account looks like a duplicate. On the accounts we run, each copy is edited so every account posts a unique version, and each account has its own preparation for the niche and location.
How long until 20 accounts start posting?
Usually 10 to 14 days. In that time the accounts are created and prepared for your niche, language and location. Daily posting starts after that, beginning at one post per account per day.
If you have the videos but not the time to post them on 20 accounts, that’s exactly what x20.online does. One pack of 20 accounts is $198 a month; see our pricing.
